Applicants to the Teacher Updating Diploma Program are expected to meet all academic requirements (as detailed by our Admissions officers and the TRB Assessment letter) and are strongly recommended to have a minimum of 50 hours of recent experience with age-appropriate youth/children (e.g., Elementary: 5 to 12 years old, or Secondary: 13 to 17 years old) in a Canadian setting.
Prior to any application, potential applicants will have their credentials assessed by the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB).
After this assessment, please contact our office for advising, both for application process and course advising.

Where acceptable standards of both written and oral English are not demonstrated during the program, BEd or updating candidates will be required to improve before continuing with courses and before proceeding to the extended practicum.

Please note an English proficiency assessment may be required prior to starting the program, however you can apply with this in progress.
If you are coming to our office, you must bring your TRB letter to this session. Please bring your TRB letter and unofficial copies of your transcript/degree certificate to this advising session; however, official transcripts must be submitted directly at the time of formal application.
During your advising session, you will discuss admission requirements, courses, timetables, study permits (if required), and registration procedures.
